The title of our contest is... 

Lunch...

Out to Lunch, Lunchtime, Superhero Lunchbox... Be creative.  Be fun.  And remember, the more people you get to watch your video & the higher they rate it, the better your chances are of winning the $1,000 scholarship.

Rules

1.  The subject of the contest is Lunch.    

2.  Only students currently enrolled in high school may participate.  Proof of enrollment will be necessary in order to receive the scholarship prize.  

3.  Videos should be no longer than one minute - or bigger than 50 mg.

4.  All videos must be clean and in good taste.  Please do not upload any copyrighted, obscene or inappropriate materials.  VideoAlmanac & TheCollegeStore.net reserve the right to remove from the site and disqualify from competition, without notice, any videos we deem inappropriate.  

5.  The video with the highest average rating (minimum of 500 votes) at the end of the day on June 15, 2007 will be declared the winner.  

6.  VideoAlmanac and TheCollegeStore.net shall be the sole arbitrators of any controversy that may arise in the execution and operation of this contest as well as the awarding of the scholarship.  

7.  Do not place any personal information such as last name, address, telephone # on the site or in the video.

Suggestions / Notes

1.  Users should give their video a name that makes it easy to identify for visitors to the site. 

2.  Winners are determined by the average rating but the minimum number is 500, so remember to send your link to as many people as you can.  

3.  The video formats supported in this contest include:  mpg, avi, flv, mov & wmv.
If your videos are not in one of these formats, you may download a free video converter from EffectMatrix.  The free in this case refers to the 2 week evaluation period.  

Directions

Step 1:  Starting Feb 1, go to www.videoalmanac.org, and click on the Contest button..

Step 2:  Click on the Signup link at the top of the page.

            Fill out the required information:
            e-mail address
            name
            password

Step 3:  Click on the Upload button below the logo.  It will ask you to put in your e-mail address, although it may already in the box.  Once you click the Send e-mail button it will send you an e-mail.

Step 4:  Check your e-mail.  You will receive a link from admin@videoalmanac.com.  Click on the link and you are verified.

Step 5:  Click on the Upload button again.  Fill in the blanks.  If your video is not in one of the supported formats, you may download a free video conversion program.  (The program, Total Video Converter, is free to use during a 14 day evaluation period.  It does not require the provision of any personal information to download) Check a tab indicating which channels you would like your video to be played on.  You may click up to 3 channels.  Note the following:  
For consideration in the
$1,000 Scholarship contest, the
$1,000 Lunch Scholarship tag MUST be checked.

Step 6:  Click the Browse button in order to find the video file on your computer.  Highlight the file and click the Upload Video button.

Step 7:  Once the video has been uploaded you will receive a confirmation message on the screen.  By clicking on the link provided you may watch your video.  You may also email the URL to friends so they can watch it and vote.  You may also view your video by simply clicking on the My Videos link on the VideoAlmanac homepage.   

Visitors to the www.videoalmanac.org site can view all of the $1,000 Scholarship Contest videos by clicking on the Channels tab and clicking on the $1,000 Scholarship tab.
